“For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.”

Romans 6:10

My name is Adam Bishop. I am a native Alabamian who now resides in Frankfort, KY where I enjoy the tax structure much, much less. The barbecue isn’t as good here either. However, we do have Graeter’s Ice Cream up in these parts and you don’t get much better than that.

I am the husband of Marie Bedwell, also a native of Alabama. She grew up in Jackson, about an hour out of Mobile. She is a banker at heart and gives a killer testimony at women’s events. She is the most meticulous person when it comes to certain things that I have ever met. Then there are things she couldn’t give a rip about, so go figure. She is smarter than me, more mature than me, and even has a great State Park named after her (not really, but I’m sure she will before she dies). I love her.

I am the father of Connor Lane and Charles Luke. Connor was born in 2001 and Charles in 2006. They like different things. For instance, Connor likes football an awful lot. Charles likes to chew on the bottom of tennis shoes. See? Different. Connor dreams of one day becoming an Auburn University football player and then a police officer. As far as I can tell, Charles just hopes he’ll get fed again in about three hours.

Marie and I were both educated at the University of Mobile. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. If you are thinking of changing your major to Marketing and you live in a relatively small Alabama area and have no desire to move to some gargantuan urban city, you have two choices. One, go ahead and major in it and enjoy outside sales for the rest of your life. Two, don’t change your major.

I spent one year of my life in Los Angeles, CA studying theology at The Master’s Seminary. I learned some great stuff and almost ruined my marriage. Not the seminary’s fault. My fault - I own it.

After putting our lives back together we are now in active, full-time ministry at Buck Run Baptist Church. We are located at the Forks of Elkhorn in Frankfort. If you would like to refer to me as Adam of Buck Run at the Forks of Elkhorn, you may. I love J.R.R. Tolkien.
